Belize monthly weather has average daytime temperatures in the 80s Fahrenheit year round. Rain is low during winter months and heavy in summer and fall.
Western Caribbean cruises flock to Belize City in the early part of the year. Visitors take advantage of this Central American country’s rainforests and other eco tourism attractions such as cave tubing in the Sibun Caves Branch Archaeological Park.
But those rainforests exist because of heavy rains that the country receives during a large part of the year. The one exception is late winter and early spring, which serves as a brief dry season for the area.
Average Monthly Rainfall
The monthly weather for Belize City has about two to three inches of rain historically from February through April, according to the National Meteorological Service of Belize. It’s an especially popular time of the year with cruise visitors.
Rainfall climbs to an average of four inches in May. It keeps climbing until it reaches as much as 10 to 12 inches historically in June, July, September and October. They are the worst months for Belize weather.
Total rainfall drops only slightly in August, November and December. It reaches a transition into the dry season during January, which averages about five inches.
When it does rain, the rainfall is often heavy. The average number of days that it rains is only about four to seven days from February through May and up to 15 days during the peak of the long rainy season.
The total number of days that it rains each month is similar to many other Caribbean destinations. But the total amount of rain makes the Belize City climate one of the wettest in the region.

The The Belize monthly weather has fairly steady temperatures all year long like most Caribbean destinations.
The average high temperature ranges from 82 degrees Fahrenheit in December and January to 88 or 89 degrees from May through September, according to the National Meteorological Service of Belize.
The average lows, which take place mainly at night, range from 67 degrees in January to 76 degrees from May through August.
Visitors who prefer warm weather will find plenty of it during the summer, but they also will face a much higher risk of rain.
Cruise visitors who like less rain will find that late winter and early spring is a dry time to go, but temperatures also will be somewhat lower. Beaches may be warm enough for sitting and a bit too cool for swimming.
That leaves land activities as the better attraction for cruise visitors.
