Belize weather in June historically is the start of an intense rainy season when heavy downpours are common.

Belize City, which is a port of call for western Caribbean cruises, is the starting point for Mayan ruins and ecotourism attractions in the surrounding countryside.

Ecotourism attractions such as rainforest hikes are common because of the highly active rainy season that begins in June.

Belize Temperatures in June

Belize weather in June has an average high temperature of 88 degrees Fahrenheit or 31 Celsius, according to the National Meteorological Service of Belize. The average low, which occurs mostly at night, is 76 degrees Fahrenheit or 24 Celsius.

June temperatures are above average for the year. They are near the highest point of any month during the year.

By comparison, daytime temperatures drop into the low 80s Fahrenheit or mid 20s Celsius during the winter.

Average Rainfall

Belize City averages 10 inches of rain in June, according to the National Meteorological Service of Belize. It is a big jump from four inches in May. June rainfall is much higher than most other Caribbean destinations during the month.

On average, it rains 14 days during the month. So when it does rain, it usually rains a lot.

June is the start of the rainy season lasting through December when the average rainfall ranges from eight to 11 inches per month.

June follows a brief dry season from February through May when the average monthly rainfall is two to four inches. The Belize dry season is similar to other Caribbean destinations.

Belize weather in June is likely to discourage visits from cruise ships and hotel travelers. April and May clearly are better months to visit Belize than June.
