Puerto Vallarta is on the western coast of Mexico.  It is a popular port of call with Mexican Riviera cruises. Its popularity drops during the annual rainy season that goes from June through October, but popularity jumps up during the dry season.

November Temperatures

Puerto Vallarta temperatures in November have an average daytime high of 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius, according to Servicio Meteorológico Nacional, Mexico’s national meteorology service. They have an average nighttime low of 67 degrees Fahrenheit or 19 Celsius.

Low nighttime temperatures will bring down seawater temperatures, especially in the mornings. Afternoon air temperatures will bring up seawater temperatures. Afternoon is the best time for swimming.

By comparison, daytime temperatures drop into the low 80s Fahrenheit or mid 20s Celsius during the winter months. Nighttime winter temperatures decline even more into the low 60s Fahrenheit or mid teens Celsius. So November daytime temperatures are quite warm compared to December through February and also quite warm for a fall month.

November Rainfall

Average rainfall takes a big drop from September, going from 15 inches to four inches in October. They drop even more to only one inch in November. It also rains on average only one day during the month. November is the first month of the annual dry season.

By comparison, the average rainfall jumps from seven inches in June to 13 inches in July, declines a bit to 12 inches in August and jumps again to 15 inches in September. These heavy rain months are the result of the annual Pacific hurricane season.

By comparison, February through April historically have almost no rain at all.

Puerto Vallarta weather in November is a transition month from the rainy season to the dry season for this popular Mexican Riviera cruise and resort destination. Visitors will usually find hot temperatures and a low risk of rain.
