Puerto Vallarta weather in June has hot temperatures, but it’s also the start of the annual hurricane season. It’s not an ideal month to visit.

Puerto Vallarta is a popular port of call on the Mexican Riviera, which lines the west coast of Mexico. But its popularity dives during the intense rainy season.

June Temperatures

Puerto Vallarta temperatures in June have an average daytime high of 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius, according to Mexico’s national meteorology service (Servicio Meteorológico Nacional). They have an average nighttime low of 73 Fahrenheit or 23 Celsius.

June temperatures are near the highest point of the year.

By comparison, daytime temperatures during the winter average in the low 80s Fahrenheit. Nighttime temperatures drop into the low 60s Fahrenheit.

In June, seawater usually will feel comfortable for swimming for most of the day.

June Rainfall

June rainfall is a big change from May, when it averages about one inch a month, according to 30 years of data from Mexico’s national meteorology service. In June, the average jumps to seven inches thanks to the annual Pacific hurricane season.

June is the first full month of the rainy season that goes through October. Rainfall reaches a high point in September when it averages 15 inches.

By comparison, February through April historically almost never have any rain at all.

Puerto Vallarta weather in June offers one of the worst months to visit because of a high risk of rain.
