Bermuda weather in March has moderate rainfall and cooler but pleasant temperatures.

Temperatures and rainfall in March are nearly the same as January and February. Even so, the island has more hotel visitors in March than the three previous months, the Caribbean Tourism Organization reports. March is often the time for spring break from schools.

January through March are the coolest of the year for this British overseas territory that lies about 450 miles east of North Carolina.

Cruises that disembark from the east coast of the U.S. will sometimes visit Bermuda on their way to the Caribbean. Although Bermuda is north of the Caribbean, it often is included in descriptions of Caribbean vacations because of many similarities. One exception is the cooler weather.

Bermuda Temperatures in March

The average high temperature in March is 69 degrees Fahrenheit or about 21 Celsius, according to historical data from the Bermuda Weather Service.

The average low temperature is 60 degrees Fahrenheit or about 16 Celsius. Water temperatures hover between the high and low air temperatures. They are usually too cool for swimming in March, which makes Bermuda popular with land activities during the month such as golf and unpopular with water activities such as snorkeling.

The island is much warmer during the summer months of June through September. The peak is August with an average high of 85 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 Celsius. It’s the best time to go for the island’s famous pink sand beaches and ocean swimming.

Rainfall in March

Bermuda does not have an extreme rainy season or dry season like many Caribbean islands. It rains on average between three and six inches a month throughout the year. October has the most rain, followed by September and August.

Bermuda rain in March historically averages about 4.3 inches, reports the Bermuda Weather Service. It is the lowest amount of the year except for April and May. They are better months for visiting because of higher temperatures and lower risk of rain.

It rains on average 15 days during the month, so the typical visitor may experience rain about once every other day.
