Bermuda weather in July offers hot weather for beach lovers, but it also has a higher risk of rain than other times of the year.

Bermuda is a common stop for cruise ships that travel south to the Caribbean from embarkation ports on the eastern coast of the United States. It also is popular with cruises that visit only Bermuda, also from East Coast embarkation ports.

Because it is in the western Atlantic, Bermuda has cooler weather in the winter and warmer in the summer.

Bermuda Temperatures in July

Bermuda temperatures historically average a daytime high in July of 85 degrees Fahrenheit or more than 29 Celsius, the Bermuda Weather Service says. The average low temperature, mostly at night, is 75 degrees Fahrenheit or 24 Celsius.

By comparison, daytime temperatures on average reach only 69 degrees Fahrenheit or 21 Celsius in January. They get only one degree warmer in August than July with an average high of 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

The average water temperature in July is 82 degrees Fahrenheit or nearly 28 Celsius, which will feel comfortable to balmy most of the time. Water temperatures usually stay about midway between the daytime and nighttime air temperatures.

So July is one of the best times to visit Bermuda for warm weather. But it’s not the best time for the risk of rain.

Rainfall in July

June starts the rainy season for Bermuda, and it continues through July. But July isn’t as risky as August, September and October.

The average rainfall during July is nearly five inches. By comparison, Bermuda rainfall reaches a low point of three inches in May and a high point of more than six inches in September.

It rains on average about 13 days during July, according to the Bermuda Weather Service. By comparison, May is the low point with 10 days and December and January have the high point of 17 days.

Bermuda weather in July is a mixed blessing for visitors who want to take advantage of Bermuda’s famous beaches. Temperatures are usually warm enough for swimming, but the risk of rain is higher.
