St. Thomas Weather in November - Rainfall and Temperatures

When it comes to rain, St. Thomas weather in November is no better or worse than September and October.

In other words, it gets plenty of rain that doesn’t let up even as the rainy season is coming to a close.

This hugely popular stop on eastern Caribbean cruises is a warm and sunny place to visit that also provides one of the best duty-free shopping experiences in the Caribbean in the city of Charlotte Amalie.

But sunny days for shopping may be hard to find in November.

The following averages are based on a 30-year history and will vary somewhat from year to year.

Total precipitation for St. Thomas is moderate from December through July with an average each month ranging between one and a half and three inches, which is common for Caribbean destinations.

But in August it begins the pick up as the Caribbean hurricane season becomes more active.

The season starts at the beginning of June and ends on the final day of November, but it is most active in the fall.

August rainfall climbs to more than three inches and climbs again to about five and a half inches from September through November.

Many destinations see a decline in rain during November, but not St. Thomas.

Temperatures

For anyone still determined to go, St. Thomas is quite warm in November with an average monthly high of 87 degrees Fahrenheit.

This is about midpoint for the island, which has high temperatures ranging from 85 to 90 degrees throughout the year.

The average low temperature, which takes place mainly at night, is about 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Again, this is about average for the island throughout the year.

Sea water will be comfortable for swimming and trade winds will be moderate.

Whether to Go

Some islands are a sure thing during certain months. St. Thomas in November is not one of them.

Although five and a half inches of rain is relatively high, it also isn’t as high as many other destinations.

The island is a possible destination in November as part of a last-minute vacation when the weather forecast looks good in the Atlantic Ocean, where many weather patterns form before moving west toward the Caribbean.

If the goal is a late fall to early winter vacation to the Caribbean, consider waiting until December.

The average temperature drops about one and a half degrees, but the average rainfall drops to less than three inches.
