St. Thomas’ weather in June usually has warm to hot temperatures with only a moderate risk of rain. It’s a combination that’s hard to beat.

This U.S. Virgin Islands cruise port attracts beach lovers and duty-free shoppers alike. It also often has plenty of warm weather to offer. June is the official start of the Caribbean hurricane season, but St. Thomas often avoids the bad weather this month.

St. Thomas Temperatures in June

St. Thomas has an average daytime temperature in June of 89 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius, according to the U.S. National Weather Service. The average nighttime temperature is 78 Fahrenheit or 25 Celsius.

The average daytime temperature is close to the high point of the year, which is 90 Fahrenheit in July, August and September. The coolest months of the year are January and February when average daytime temperatures are 85 degrees Fahrenheit or 29 Celsius.

Average water temperatures are warm as well because they stay between the highs of the day and lows of the night.

June is the start of the Caribbean hurricane season, which goes through November. But St. Thomas doesn’t have the same increase in June rainfall of other Caribbean destinations.

St. Thomas averages about two and a half inches of rain in June. By comparison, February and March average rainfall of about one and a half inches a month. They are historically the driest months of the year.

July has only slightly more average rainfall, but the total climbs in August and reaches a high point of more than five inches from September through November.

St. Thomas’ weather in June has some of the warmest temperatures of the year. It’s a good time to visit the island for families on break from schools who want to spend time on the island’s beaches.
