St. Thomas weather in July is hot with a low to moderate risk of rain.

St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands follows a weather pattern typical of the Eastern Caribbean. The island’s climate year is divided into two distinct seasons: the rainy season and the dry season.

The dry season runs from December to May. St. Thomas has little rain and a lower level of humidity during these months. The St. Thomas rainy season runs from June to November.

The rainy season is also called hurricane season, and for good reason. Hurricanes and tropical storms are more likely to hit or pass near St. Thomas between the months of June and November.

July is one of the warmest months of the year in St. Thomas after only August and September.

The average high temperature for St. Thomas in July is 89 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius, according to the U.S. National Weather Service. In August and September, the warmest months of the year, temperatures exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 33 Celsius.

The average nighttime temperature in July is 78 degrees Fahrenheit or 26 Celsius. In the evening, it rarely becomes cool enough for even a light sweater.

By comparison, the coolest months of the year are December and January. Daytime temperatures during these months average 85 degrees Fahrenheit or 29 Celsius. Nighttime temperatures drop to 72 degrees Fahrenheit or 22 Celsius.

The sea temperature hovers around 83 degrees Fahrenheit or 28 Celsius during the summer months.

St. Thomas Rainfall in July

During July, St. Thomas has on average 2.6 inches of rain, according to the U.S. National Weather Service. It rains an average of about four days during the month.

Annually, St. Thomas receives about 40 inches of rain.

In the winter months, St. Thomas has very little rain. In January, February and March, it rains an average of less than two inches per month.

The heaviest rainfall occurs in September, October and November when it exceeds five inches per month.

Rain usually occurs in the form of a short, passing shower.

St. Thomas weather in July is fairly sunny and warm. So long as no hurricanes are on the horizon, it is usually a pleasant month for cruise and hotel travelers to visit.
