St. Lucia weather in July has more rain than June thanks to the annual Caribbean hurricane season.

The eastern Caribbean island of St. Lucia lies near the islands of Martinique and Dominica, which are known for having heavy amounts of rain during hurricane season in particular.

St. Lucia doesn’t normally have as much rain as Martinique and Dominica, but it does have higher amounts than many other Caribbean islands during July.

The numbers below are historical averages and may vary somewhat in any single year. But they are useful guides in knowing what to expect with St. Lucia weather in July.

St. Lucia Temperatures in July

The average high temperature for St. Lucia in July is 87 degrees Fahrenheit or nearly 31 Celsius, according to St. Lucia Meteorological Services. It reaches that point in May and stays there through October.

The average low temperature in July is 77 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 Celsius, again the same from May through October. The low temperature usually occurs at night.

Water temperatures stay in the high 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit most of the time during the month.

By comparison, July temperatures are only three degrees warmer than the winter months.

The total average rainfall for St. Lucia in July is nearly six inches, according to St. Lucia Meteorological Services. It is above average for most Caribbean destinations during the month.

This compares to less than three inches in May, a low point for the year of less than two inches in January and a high point of nearly eight inches in September and October.

It rains on average 21 days in July, which also is higher than many Caribbean destinations. This compares to 16 days in June. The low point is 11 days in January during the dry season. July and August are the high points of the year.

Should I Go in July?

St. Lucia’s weather in July offers the same warm weather as June but a much higher risk of rain. Anyone planning a cruise or resort visit in the summer that includes St. Lucia is better off choosing June rather than July or August.
