November is the island’s rainiest month of the year. It also is one of the wettest islands in the entire Caribbean.

The Caribbean hurricane season officially begins on June 1 and ends Nov. 30. The final month of the season usually has less rain than September and October for most islands. But not Dominica.

Its location makes it a convenient port of call. Heavy rains most of the year make it an ecotourism destination because of many waterfalls and lush rainforests.
