People who love a lot of rain will enjoy Dominica in November.

The average November weather in Dominica has 15 inches of rain and an average high temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

November is the island's rainiest month of the year for this eastern Caribbean island, which is one of the wettest islands in the entire region.

The Caribbean hurricane season officially begins on June 1 and ends Nov. 30. The final month of the season usually has less rain than September and October for most islands. But not Dominica.

It is somewhat popular earlier in the year for Caribbean cruises because it lies between Antigua and St. Lucia, two of the most popular eastern Caribbean cruise destinations. Its location makes it a convenient port of call. Heavy rains most of the year make it an eco tourism destination because of many waterfalls and lush rainforests.

Rainfall reaches the lowest point of the year between January and April with an average of four to six inches of rain each month, according to historical data from the Dominica Meteorological Service.

Rains begin to increase until they reach the high point of 15 inches in November. October is in second places with about 13 inches.

Temperatures in November don't vary much compared to the rest of the year.

The average high temperature of 85 Fahrenheit or about 30 Celsius is nearly the same as the previous months going back to May.

The average low or nighttime temperature is 73 Fahrenheit or nearly 23 Celsius.

Dominica isn't as well known for beaches as other islands, but people who visit there in November will find the average seawater temperature about midway between the daily highs and lows. The water is often a bit cool in the mornings and more comfortable in the afternoons.

November is the worst month for anyone to visit Dominica with hope for clear skies. Surprisingly, the island does attract more than 4,000 overnight visitors during the month, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization. They must be rain lovers.
