Dominica weather in October almost certainly will deliver heavy rainfall.
Don’t take that as a dig against Dominica. The island is gorgeous for large parts of the year because of its lush undergrowth, rainforests and waterfalls.
But it gets that way because the island has one of the highest amounts of rainfall among any destinations in the Caribbean.
It especially gets that way during the peak of the Caribbean hurricane season, which runs from June through November. Dominica weather in October is especially wet.
Average Rainfall
If an award could be given for most rainfall, Dominica would get it. Dominica averages 13 inches of rain during October, according to the Dominica Meteorological Services.
That total far exceeds any other total among major destinations in the Caribbean. But it’s actually not as bad as November when the island averages an even more impressive 15 inches.
Other islands including some nearby such as St. Lucia are more likely to receive five to six inches during the month.
Also by comparison, Dominica averages the least amount of rain in February, when the total is only four inches. It’s one of the best months for travelers to visit the island.
