Curaçao Weather in August: Hot and Dry

Curaçao weather in August has the hottest weather of the year along with a low risk of rain. It is usually a good time weather-wise to visit this southern Caribbean island.
The island normally has some of the warmest weather in the Caribbean because of its southern location. It also has some of the driest weather in the Caribbean, along with nearby Aruba and Bonaire.
But August is unusual because most Caribbean destinations have a jump in rainfall as a result of the annual Caribbean hurricane season, which goes from June through November. Not Curaçao.
Curaçao Temperatures in August
Curaçao’s average high temperature in August is 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius, according to the Meteorological Department of Curaçao. The average low temperature is 79 degrees Fahrenheit or 26 Celsius. The highs usually take place during the day and the lows at night.
The daytime temperatures are the highest of the year along with September. By comparison, daytime temperatures average in the mid 80s Fahrenheit or high 20s Celsius during the winter.
The average water temperature for Curaçao in August is 82 degrees Fahrenheit or 28 Celsius. It is quite comfortable throughout the day and sometimes balmy.

By comparison, total rainfall is about two inches in January and September. It’s three inches from October through December, which is a mild rainy season compared to the rest of the Caribbean.
March through June all average less than one inch of rain. It’s the dry season for this dry island.

Whether to Go in August
Curaçao weather in August usually offers warm temperatures and a low risk of rain. But August also is part of the Caribbean hurricane season. A hurricane or tropical storm passing near Curaçao is unlikely but possible.
Anyone who wants to visit the island may want to consider going a little earlier in the year just to lower the rain risk even more. Otherwise, the odds of pleasant weather are good.
