Curaçao Weather in April: Rain, Temperatures

Curaçao’s weather in April proves once again that this southwest Caribbean island has some of the best weather in the region.
Curaçao off the coast of Venezuela is part of the ABC group of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. All three islands are known for being among the driest destinations in the Caribbean. Aruba is the most popular of the three, followed by Curaçao and then Bonaire.
They also are among the warmest islands in the region because of their southern location.
Curaçao Temperatures in April
The average high temperature in Curaçao during April is 88 degrees Fahrenheit or 31 Celsius, according to Meteo Curaçao, the island’s meteorological service. Temperatures usually reach the highest point of the day in mid afternoon.
The average low temperature in April is 78 degrees Fahrenheit or 26 Celsius. Low temperatures usually occur at night.
Water temperatures are warm to balmy. They hover between the daytime high and nighttime low air temperatures. The average seawater temperature is a pleasant 80 degrees Fahrenheit or 27 Celsius.
By comparison, daytime high temperatures average more than 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius in August and September, the hottest months on the island. They reach a lowpoint of 85 degrees Fahrenheit or 29 Celsius in January. The island is one of the warmest in the Caribbean year round.
Rainfall in April
Curaçao is especially dry in April. The average rainfall in Curaçao during April is less than one inch, according to Meteo Curaçao.
April has the second lowest rainfall of the year after March. March through June all average less than one inch of rain.
By comparison, the island averages about two inches a month in January as well as July through September. The total increases to more than three inches from October through December during a light and brief annual rainy season.
Most of the Caribbean has quite an increase in rain during the late summer and fall months because of the annual hurricane season. But Curaçao has only a modest increase.

Whether to Go in April
Curaçao weather in April is some of the warmest and driest in the Caribbean during April. Aruba is a more popular island, but Curaçao has some of the same good weather along with smaller crowds.
Temperatures increase only a few degrees more during the summer. So visitors looking for warm weather will find April almost as good as any other month. Even better, the risk of rain is about as low as any month of the year.
