Cozumel weather in November is right between the worst months of the year and the coolest months of the year.
Not that Cozumel is ever really cool. It’s just not as warm some months as other months.
The largest island of Mexico is located off the coast just south of Cancun and faces what is commonly called the Mayan Riviera.
It is a highly popular stop on western Caribbean cruises. In fact, it’s the most common stop because of its white-sand beaches, snorkeling, scuba diving and dining.
Average Temperatures
Cozumel temperatures in November have an average high of 85 degrees Fahrenheit or 29 Celsius, according to Servicio Meteorológico Nacional, Mexico’s national meteorology service. It is still warm enough for beaches and swimming.
The average low temperature is 71 degrees Fahrenheit or nearly 22 Celsius. The low takes place mainly at night.
The average lows are trending down for winter at this point in the year, which will start to lower the seawater temperature as well.
Cozumel is one of the few destinations in the Caribbean region that has average high temperatures exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer.
These hot months are May through August, although April and September come close with an average of more than 89 degrees.
Average Rainfall

The island receives almost 10 inches of rain on average in September and October, which makes those months the worst times of the year to visit.
November rain drops to a much better average of about five inches, according to Servicio Meteorológico Nacional. But expect heavier rain in early November and lighter rain in the later part of the month. The five inches in November is still higher than average.
By comparison, rainfall averages two inches or less each month from February through April.
It rains on average about 15 days in September and October, but that total drops to 11 days in November.
Whether to Go
November is one of those months when going to Cozumel may be worth considering if prices are low enough to justify the slightly higher risk of rain.
Anyone planning a trip there should keep travel insurance in mind as a hedge against bad weather.
Again, note that the risk may be lower in the second half of the month than in the first half.
