Barbados weather in October has the highest risk of rain of any month of the year for this eastern Caribbean island.

Barbados is mostly popular with people who visit via Caribbean cruises. But cruise and hotel travel to Barbados takes a big drop in October because of the risk of rain, tropical storms and hurricanes.

While September and October are the least popular times to visit Barbados, the most popular times are December, January and March, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

Barbados Temperatures in October

Barbados temperatures in October have an average high of 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 Celsius, according to the Barbados Meteorological Services. The average low is 76 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 Celsius.

These temperatures are about the same as May through September. They are the warmest months of the year.

In contrast, January is the lowest of the year at 83 degrees Celsius or 23 Celsius.

Water temperatures in October feel comfortable throughout the day. They stay between the daytime highs and nighttime lows.

Rainfall in October

For most Caribbean destinations, rainfall is highest in September. For Barbados, the highest is in October. The average rainfall in Barbados during October is nearly seven inches, according to the Barbados Meteorological Services.

In contrast, rainfall reaches a low point in February and March with an average of less than two inches. January and April average a little more than two inches. The dry season is a popular time to visit Barbados because of the low risk of rain. April is an especially good month for weather because of the combination of warm temperatures and low risk of rain. The same can’t be said for October.

The high chance of rain makes October the riskiest month of the year to visit Barbados. Travel planners should consider visiting the island much earlier or possibly later in the year.
