Barbados weather in July has the same warm temperatures as June but a growing risk of rain as it heads into the Caribbean hurricane season.

Barbados is a popular island in the eastern Caribbean for cruise and hotel visitors alike, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization. Some of the most popular times to visit are during the dry season from December through May.

July is the first month of the island’s rainy season, which goes through November. Still, the risk of rain is moderate compared to later months in the season. At least the weather is warm.

Temperatures in July

Barbados temperatures in July have an average high of 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 Celsius, according to the Barbados Meteorological Services. The average low is 77 degrees Fahrenheit or 26 Celsius. The low takes place mostly at night.

By comparison, July temperatures are about three degrees warmer than January and February, which are the coolest months of the year. Temperatures in July are about the same as August through September.

Water temperatures usually stay about midway between the high and low air temperatures. They feel comfortable for swimmers throughout the day in July.

Rainfall in July

February and March historically have the lowest rainfall of the year for Barbados. The average then is about two inches a month. The risk of rain increases to an average of three inches in June and climbs even higher to more than four inches in July, according to the Barbados Meteorological Services.

Still, July rainfall is modest compared to some later months. Rainfall historically averages nearly seven inches in October, which is the high point of the year.

July is neither an especially good or especially bad month to visit Barbados because of the risk of rain. May and June have about the same temperatures and a lower risk of rain, so they are better times for people to visit the island.

If anyone wants to visit Barbados in the summer because of break from school, July is a better choice than August, which is even rainier than July.
