Barbados weather in April historically offers dry weather and comfortable temperatures for this eastern Caribbean island.

Barbados is a popular island for hotel and cruise visitors alike. It attracts about the same number of cruise and hotel visitors throughout the year, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). Its popularity rises during the dry season, which goes from December through May.

Some months during the dry season are better than others for great weather. April is one of those months.

Temperatures in April

Barbados temperatures in April have an average daytime high of 85 degrees Fahrenheit or 29 Celsius, according to the Barbados Meteorological Services. The average nighttime low is 75 degrees Fahrenheit or 24 Celsius.

By comparison, April temperatures are about two degrees warmer than January and February, which are the coolest of the year. Also by comparison, daytime temperatures reach a high point of 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 Celsius in August. So April temperatures are near the highest of the year.

Water temperatures hover between the high and low air temperatures of the day. They normally feel warm while swimming, especially in the afternoons.

Rainfall in April

February and March are the driest months of the year for Barbados. April is only slightly wetter. April rainfall in Barbados averages a little more than two inches during the month, according to the Barbados Meteorological Services.

May also averages a little more than two inches a month. June begins a transition toward a moderate rainy season with more than three inches.

By comparison, rainfall is highest in Barbados during October with an average of nearly seven inches. It is the riskiest month for weather because of the Caribbean hurricane season.

April is one of the better months to visit Barbados because of warming temperatures and low risk of rain. Another good option is May for slightly warmer temperatures with the same low risk of rain.
