St. Maarten weather in July has above average temperatures along with average rainfall. July is one of the better months to visit the island for warm weather and low risk of rain.

But it’s not quite the best month for St. Maarten weather because July is during the annual Caribbean hurricane season. Even though the island historically has a low risk of rain during the month, the odds are higher of more severe rain if a tropical storm or hurricane passes through the area.

The weather for visitors to St. Maarten is usually better for rain in February and March when rainfall averages about two inches a month, although temperatures are several degrees cooler.

Air temperatures during the month reach their highest point of the year in July along with June and August. The average high temperature in St. Maarten during July is 89 degrees Fahrenheit or 31 Celsius, according to the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten. The average high usually takes place during the day.

The average low temperature is 79 degrees Fahrenheit or 26 Celsius. The low usually occurs at night.

This compares to an average high of 83 degrees Fahrenheit in January and 84 Fahrenheit in February, which are the coolest months of the year. The average low is 74 degrees Fahrenheit from January through March.

St. Maarten’s water temperature in July hovers between the high and low air temperaturres. It normally feels comfortable to balmy throughout the day.

Rainfall in July

The average rainfall for St. Maarten in July is about three inches, the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten reports.

This compares to a low point of two inches in February, March and June and a high point of six inches in November.
