St. Maarten weather in February delivers a nearly ideal combination of warm temperatures and low risk of rain for this southeastern Caribbean island.
The island has about 500,000 hotel visitors and 2 million cruise visitors every year, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization.
Island tourism reaches a high point from December through March because of northerners from the U.S., Canada and Europe on breaks from schools and wanting to escape from snowy winters.
The island is popular with cruise visitors because of a major port at Philipsburg, which has a large tourism district packed with shopping and dining. The island also has a major beach at Orient Bay, the French village of Marigot and easy access to several nearby islands.
February tourism is about the same as the other months during this high season. But St. Maarten’s February weather is not quite the same as the others.
February Temperatures
St. Maarten temperatures in February have an average high of 84 degrees Fahrenheit or 29 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten. The average low is 74 degrees Fahrenheit or 23 Celsius.
These temperatures are a little warmer than winter temperatures in northern destinations of the Caribbean. But they also are near the low point of the year for St. Maarten. By comparison, the island reaches an average high of 89 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius during the summer.
February temperatures are the second coolest of the year after January.

February is tied with March and June for the driest months of the year at about two inches. April is slightly higher with three inches.
By comparison, rainfall on the island reaches an average high point of six inches in November during the annual Caribbean hurricane season.
Although February is a good time to visit St. Maarten because of low rainfall, anyone planning an overnight or cruise vacation to the island will find warmer temperatures with the same low risk of rain in March, April and June.
