Cabo San Lucas Weather in March: Rain, Temperatures

Cabo San Lucas weather in March has a very low risk of rain along with moderate temperatures.

The cruise port of Cabo San Lucas is on the southern tip of Baja California. It is a popular port of call with Mexican Riviera cruises. 

Besides the convenient location for cruise ships, it has some of the driest weather among all Mexican Riviera ports throughout most of the year. March is especially dry.

March Temperatures

Cabo San Lucas in March has an average high temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit or 27 Celsius, according to Mexico’s national meteorology service (Servicio Meteorológico Nacional). It has an average low of 55 degrees Fahrenheit or 13 Celsius.

March temperatures are the third lowest of the year after January and February, which are only slightly cooler. The cool nighttime temperatures in March will make seawater too chilly for swimming for many people throughout much the day. But it’s warm enough to spend time in the sun and on the beach. Seawater temperatures are especially cold in the mornings.

By comparison, daytime temperatures reach the low 90s Fahrenheit or low 30s Celsius from July through October. They are the best months to visit Cabo for anyone who wants to spend time in the water.

March Rainfall

Cabo San Lucas historically has a very low risk of rain in March. In fact, it almost never rains at all during the month, according to Servicio Meteorológico Nacional. Any rain is usually brief and light.

March is the third month of the city’s long dry season when it rains one inch a month or less through July.

By comparison, the port’s rainy season from August through October is brief and light, unlike other ports along the Mexican Riviera.

August usually has less than three inches a month, September more than three inches and October about two inches. The risk of rain grows from August to October because of the annual Pacific hurricane season.

Cabo San Lucas weather in March is a good month to visit for people who want a low risk of rain. It’s not the best month for vacationers who want to swim at Cabo’s beaches. April and May are better choices when temperatures are warmer.
