Cabo San Lucas Weather in April: Rain, Temperatures

Cabo San Lucas weather in April historically has almost no rainfall along with warming temperatures.

Cabo San Lucas is a cruise port on the southern tip of Baja California. It is a popular destination for Mexican Riviera cruises. 

It also is a popular resort destination because of weather that is warm and dry for most of the year.

April Temperatures

Cabo San Lucas in April has an average high temperature of 84 degrees Fahrenheit or 29 Celsius, according to Servicio Meteorológico Nacional, Mexico’s national meteorology service. It has an average low temperature of 59 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 Celsius.

Temperatures in April are several degrees warmer than March.

Despite warm daytime weather, the low temperatures at night often make seawater too cold for swimming, especially in the mornings. But daytime temperatures are warm enough for lounging on Cabo beaches. Swimming usually feels more comfortable in the afternoons.

Swimmers will find better ocean temperatures from July through October when daytime temperatures reach the low 90s Fahrenheit or low 30s Celsius.

April Rainfall

Cabo San Lucas historically has almost no rain during April, according to Mexico’s Servicio Meteorológico Nacional. If it does rain, the rain is usually brief and light.

April is in the middle of the city’s long dry season when it rains less than one inch a month from November through July.

The mild and brief rainy season goes from August through October.

By comparison, August usually has less than three inches a month, September more than three inches and October about two inches. The risk of rain grows from August to October because of the annual Pacific hurricane season. Still, the rainy season for Cabo is brief and mild compared to other Mexican Riviera destinations.

Cabo San Lucas weather in April is a good month for visitors who want a low risk of rain. It’s not the best month for anyone who wants to swim at Cabo’s beaches. May and June are better choices.
