Cabo San Lucas weather in September is the wettest of the year, but it’s not very wet for this dry cruise port on the western coast of Mexico.

Cabo San Lucas is able to avoid most of the annual Pacific hurricane season, unlike most of its neighbors along the Mexican Riviera. It also has plenty of warm temperatures to go with the fairly dry weather in September.

September Rainfall

Cabo San Lucas rainfall in September averages more than three inches, according to Mexico’s national meteorology service (Servicio Meteorológico Nacional). It’s the highest of the year, but the total is meager compared to other destinations.

By comparison, rainfall averages less than one inch during the driest part of the dry season that goes from October through July. Even August averages only two to three inches during the month.

Other Mexican Riviera destinations such as Puerto Vallarta average as much as 12 inches of rain in September.

September Temperatures

Cabo San Lucas temperatures in September have an average high of 91 degrees Fahrenheit or nearly 33 Celsius, Servicio Meteorológico Nacional reports. They have a low of 74 degrees Fahrenheit or more than 23 Celsius.

The high temperatures usually take place during the day. The lows usually occur at night.

These temperatures are near the warmest of the year, which take place in July and August.

By comparison, January has the coldest temperatures of the year with a high of 77 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 Celsius. So any summer month is a better time to visit Cabo for warm temperatures.

Cabo water temperatures in September hover about midway between the daytime highs and nighttime lows. They will feel warm to balmy most of the day, especially in the afternoons.

Cabo San Lucas weather in September isn’t the best weather of the year for this warm and dry Mexican cruise port. Travel planners may want to visit during other months, but September rainfall in Cabo is still low compared to other destinations.
