Cabo San Lucas weather in February offers vacationers plenty of dry weather but also some cooler than normal temperatures.
Cabo on the southern tip of Baja California is a popular port with Mexican Riviera cruises. It’s popular in part because of fun attractions, a convenient location and great weather for most of the year.
Visitors almost always have a low risk of rain in February. In fact, the risk is nearly zero. But people who like warm weather will find that temperatures aren’t that hot.
February Temperatures
Cabo San Lucas temperatures in February have an average daytime high of 79 degrees Fahrenheit or 26 Celsius, according to Mexico’s national meteorology service (Servicio Meteorológico Nacional). They average a chilly nighttime low of 54 degrees Fahrenheit or 12 Celsius.
February temperatures are the second lowest of the year after January, which is only slightly cooler. Cool nighttime temperatures often make seawater too chilly for swimming for most people throughout the day, especially in the mornings. But they can at least lounge on the beaches.
By comparison, daytime temperatures reach the low 90s Fahrenheit or low 30s Celsius from July through October. They are the best months to visit for swimmers. But the risk of rain starts to grow.
February Rainfall
Cabo San Lucas historically has a very low risk of rain in February. In fact, it barely rains at all, according to Servicio Meteorológico Nacional. It rarely rains even one day during the month.
February is the second month of the lengthy dry season when it rains one inch a month or less. The dry season goes from January through July.
By comparison, the port’s rainy season from August through October is brief and mild compared to other ports along the Mexican Riviera.
Historically, August usually has less than three inches a month, September more than three inches and October aboout two inches. The risk of rain grows from August to October because of the annual Pacific hurricane season.
Cabo San Lucas weather in February is a good month to visit for people who like dry weather. It’s not a good month for vacationers who like it hot and want to spend time in the water.
