San Juan weather in June is a chance for cruise and hotel visitors to enjoy some hot weather with a moderate risk of rain.

The San Juan cruise port is a popular port of call for eastern Caribbean cruises. Quite a few southern Caribbean cruises begin in San Juan.

Cruise and hotel visitors to San Juan will find that the weather in June is usually better than the months that come later in the summer and fall during the annual Caribbean hurricane season. It officially begins June 1, although June is usually a low-risk month for tropical storms and hurricanes.

San Juan temperatures in June have an average high of more than 88 degrees Fahrenheit or nearly 31 Celsius, the U.S. National Weather Service reports. The average low temperature, usually at night, is 76 degrees Fahrenheit or 24 Celsius. These temperatures are near the high point for the year.

June is the first official month of the annual Caribbean hurricane season. But San Juan historically has lower rainfall in June than its brief rainy season in May.

The dry season goes from January through April. During that period, total rainfall averages less than three inches a month. Historically in May, it jumps to six inches, but it drops back to four inches in June, according to the U.S. National Weather Service.

It rains in San Juan on average just under 12 days in June compared to nearly 13 in May. This compares to about eight days in March and April, which are the low points of the year.

March and April are better months to visit San Juan for warm temperatures and a lower risk of rain. But beach lovers may want to try June for warmer temperatures and only a slight increase in the risk of rain. July is slightly warmer but has a higher risk of rain than June.
