The Dutch islands of Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire (the ABC) islands are well known as some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. Beyond the beautiful attractions are the wonderful tastes of Dutch cuisine.

1. Richard's Waterfront Dining

A large coral-built bar that attracts a laid-back crowd, Richard's Waterfront Dining is a top end dining destination in Bonaire. In fact, most visitors here simply like to sip cocktails while choosing from the menu of ever-changing dishes, from grilled wahoo fish with mango salsa to juicy steaks with flavorsome sauces. Richard's Waterfront Dining places a lot of emphasis on high-quality ingredients and natural flavors.

2. Ingridients

Ingredients is a restaurant marked by a Mediterranean/European twist. Fairly new, their fresh menu has an exciting touch, where all dishes are prepared from scratch and made with fresh local ingredients, hence the name. (The name is also for its owner Ingrid.)

Being a family effort, the restaurant reflects the feeling of "home" in an ambience that is suitable for romantic dining. Overlooking the ocean with amazing sunsets, visitors can relax and take in panoramic views of the sea.

3. Zeezicht Restaurant

Another top-end restaurant, Zeezicht offers good food and a wonderful setting. Overlooking the sea, guests will get the best views of the sunset against the dark blue waters.

Located on the beachfront, the majority of the offerings here are fresh from the sea. Choices include ample fresh fish and lobster. Various types of steak, sushi and Indonesian rijstafel (rice served with many accompaniments) and a host Japanese dishes are also available.

4. Capriccio

While still a pricy spot, Capriccio is less expensive than the aforementioned restaurants. This, while keeping up to said spots. Because of this, Capriccio is one of Bonaire's most popular restaurants, serving fresh Northern Italian cuisine on the harbor front for almost 30 years.

Capriccio is originally from Padua and Milan and provides a menu complete with savory salads, homemade pastas, warm focaccia, and thin-crust pizzas, flavorful mahimahi braised in onion, olives, and sun-dried tomatoes or braised duck in port-wine sauce.

Beyond that, there are various areas for relaxing and having a wonderful evening whether it is for a special event, romance or just lounging. There is an alfresco terrace, a cozy air-conditioned interior oranged in flickering candlelight, and elevated dimly lit alcoves for special occasions.

5. Paradise Moon

Paradise moon is a place to have a short night out. Diners can relax and enjoy the company of family and friends in a laidback atmosphere marked by a casual and unpretentious open-air pub-diner.

Weekday diners visit this local eatery for its homemade, reasonably priced food. Highlights of their menu include fiery enchiladas, sizzling fajitas and mesquite grills. The grouper fish tacos are particularly well renowned as being quite tasty.

The more dynamic part of the Caribbean's uniqueness has nothing to do with food, except on islands such as Bonaire. Here, visitors will discover an ever-changing yet still ever unique taste that is extremely tantalizing. Food-savvy diners won't be able to resist sampling the multi-ethnic fiesta of indigenous flavors in Bonaire.
