Anguilla weather in April has some of the best weather of the year. It’s not ideal, but it’s pretty close.

Anguilla sits seven miles off the coast of St. Maarten. It doesn’t have its own weather service, but St. Maarten does via the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten (MDS). Cruise and hotel visitors to Anguilla will get the same weather as St. Maarten.

The small island of Anguilla attracts small cruise ships and cruise and hotel visitors to St. Maarten who ferry over to Anguilla. It also attracts its own hotel visitors who like the island’s quietness and beautiful beaches.

Anguilla Temperatures in April

The average high temperature in April is a comfortable 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 Celsius, according to the MDS. The average low temperature is 75 degrees Fahrenheit or 24 Celsius.

A daytime temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit is about midway between the highs and lows of the year. Anguilla’s average daytime temperature drops to 83 degrees in January and reaches a high point of 89 from July through September.

But keep in mind that September is one of the wettest months for the island. For Anguilla, September is the second worst month of the Caribbean hurricane season.

Anguilla water temperatures usually stay between the daytime highs and nighttime lows. So they will feel warm and comfortable nearly all day, every day in April.

April Rainfall

Anguilla has a dry season that goes from January through April, according to the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten. The average rainfall is two to three inches each month, which is common for most Caribbean destinations during this time period.

The average in April is three inches. By comparison, the average rainfall climbs to four inches in May, declines to two to three inches in June and July and starts climbing again. During the most active months of the Caribbean hurricane season, it reaches a peak of six inches in November.

Anguilla weather in April offers a combination of warmer temperatures and slightly more risk of rain than March. It also offers a lower risk of rain than May. April is one of the best months to visit the island for good weather.
