Monthly Acapulco Rain and Temperatures

The average monthly weather in Acapulco ranges warm and dry springs to hot and wet summers and falls.

Cruise and resort visitors go to this popular city on the west coast of Mexico to take advantage of the warmth.

The weather is often separated into two categories: the dry season and the rainy season. The dry season attracts more tourists because there are more sunny days during this time.

The dry season brings warm days and comfortable nights. It runs from November through May, with an average daily temperature in the upper 80s Fahrenheit. There are few days of rain, and the humidity is also low.

The rainy season is from June to October. Rainfall and temperatures both rise. The daily average temperatures run in the 90s, and humidity increases as well. With the increase in rainfall, the tropical forests become lush and green.

Many local businesses and tour companies shut down during the rainy season. But hotel and restaurant prices drop, which means some great deals for cruise and resort visitors.

Average Monthly Temperatures

The chart shows average temperatures and rainfall throughout most of the year.

Acapulco temperatures vary only by small amounts each month. The highest temperatures usually occur from June through August and hit the low 90s. The maximum temperatures for the rest of the year are in the high 80s.

Nighttime temperatures stay in the 70s Fahrenheit through the entire year. January often has the coolest temperatures in the evenings with a low of 73 degrees. Summertime lows remain in the upper 70s.

Seawater usually is comfortable enough for swimming even in the winter.

Average Monthly Rain

Rainfall varies greatly through the year with a dry season from late winter to mid spring and a rainy season from June through November.

The months with the least amount of rainfall are February, March and April. Sometimes rainfall can be a little as 1.2 mm for a month.

The months of June to October get vast amounts of rain. The wettest months are August and September. Average totals of rain for these months are between 280-298 mm of rain.

Like the Pacific hurricane season, the official Acapulco hurricane season is from May 15 to Nov. 30. Acapulco will have tropical storms, depressions and hurricanes at this time. These storms are more likely to occur during the El Nino years.
