Acapulco Climate - Average Rainfall and Temperatures

Acapulco, Mexico is a place of warmth and sunshine. The climate is generally warm, with a wet and dry season.

Travelers frequent this city throughout the year because of the pleasant weather.

The weather is often separated into two categories, the wet season and the dry season. The dry season brings in more tourists because there are more sunny days during this time.

The dry season brings hot days and balmy nights. It runs from November through May, with an average daily temperature of 88 degrees. There are very few days of rain and the humidity is also low.

The wet season is from June to October and rainfall, along with temperatures, rise. The daily average temperatures run in the 90s and the humidity increases. With the increase in rainfall, the tropical forests become lush and green.

Although many local businesses and tour companies shut down during the wet season, hotel and restaurant prices drop, which is nice for travelers, as they can get some great deals.

Highs

Acapulco temperatures remain consistent throughout the year. The highest temperatures usually occur from June through August and hit the low 90s. The maximum temperatures for the rest of the year are in the high 80s.

Lows

Daily minimum temperatures are in the 70s through the entire year. January often has the coolest temperatures in the evenings with a low of 73 degrees. Summertime lows remain around 77 degrees.

Rainfall

Rainfall varies drastically all through the year. The months with the least amount of rainfall are February, March and April. Sometimes rainfall can be a little as 1.2 mm for a month.
The months of June to October get vast amounts of rain. The wettest months are August and September. Average totals of rain for these months are between 280-298 mm of rain.

Storm Season

The official Acapulco storm season is from May 15 to November 30. These dates correspond with the Eastern Pacific hurricane season. Acapulco will experience tropical storms, depressions and hurricanes at this time. These storms are more likely to occur during the El Nino years.
