Baltic Sea cruises usually depart from Copenhagen in Denmark or Stockholm in Sweden.

A typical cruise departing from Copenhagen will visit the likes of Stockholm as well as St. Petersburg, Russia, and Helsinki, Finland, among other destinations. They may also visit the eastern European countries of Estonia and Latvia.

A typical cruise departing from Stockholm may visit Copenhagen and St. Petersburg in addition to Gdansk, Poland; Klaipeda, Lithuania; and Tallinn, Estonia.

St. Petersburg is a popular destination for both departure ports. A few of the longer cruises may visit Rostock, Germany.

Cruise lines that offer Baltic Sea cruises include Azamara, Cunard, Costa, Disney, MSC, Norwegian, Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, Royal Caribbean, Seabourn and Silversea.

The length of the cruise determines the number of destinations for Baltic Sea cruises. A search of one full year of scheduled Baltic Sea cruises on a major travel booking site found 46 total cruises. Of that total:

• 29 were six to nine nights in length
• 16 were 10 to 14 nights
• 1 was 15+ nights

Baltic Sea cruises mainly take place during the summer. The cruise season begins in May, reaches a high point in July and August and wraps up with a small number of cruises in September. There are few to no cruises from October through April.
