Costa Rican weather has two distinct seasons: the wet season and the dry season. The dry season, also known as the country's summer, runs from December to April.

During this time, there is very little rain. The weather is hot, dry, and sometimes dusty. This is also the height of tourist season, meaning that the beaches can become very busy.

The yearly average rainfall for the country of Costa Rica is 100 inches. While most of this falls during the wet season, which runs from May to November, some rain does occur during the dry months.

Any rain showers will be light and relatively short in duration.

Costa Rica's landscape and topography is incredibly varied. Some parts of Costa Rica are more likely to have rain, even in the dry season.

Many parts of Costa Rica are rainforest, and do not experience a dry season at any point in the year.
