Costa Rican weather has two distinct seasons: the wet season and the dry season. The dry season, also known as the country's summer, runs from December to April.

During this time, there is very little rain. The weather is hot, dry, and sometimes dusty. This is also the height of tourist season, meaning that the beaches can become very busy.

The yearly average rainfall for the country of Costa Rica is 100 inches. While most of this falls during the wet season, which runs from May to November, some rain does occur during the dry months.
