Jamaica weather in June has temperatures in the high 80s Fahrenheit or about 30 Celsius. Rainfall is above average compared to other months of the year.

June is the start of the Jamaica hurricane season, but it’s a slow start. It’s not the best time to visit Jamaica, but it’s not the worst time, either.

Two of the largest and most important cities on the island are Montego Bay, which is a major resort and cruise destination, and Kingston, capital of the country.

The two cities are on opposite ends of the island. Montego Bay sits on the northwest coast while Kingston is on the southwest coast. Montego Bay is near the cruise port at Falmouth. Other major destinations are Negril and Ocho Rios.

Montego Bay Weather in June

Montego Bay weather in June has an average high temperature of 88 degrees Fahrenheit or 31 Celsius. The average low is 74 Fahrenheit or 23 Celsius.

These temperatures are at the high point between the warmest and coolest months of the year. Summer temperatures reach into the high 80s Fahrenheit or about 30 Celsius while winter temperatures dip into the low 80s.

Historically, it rains about five inches during June in Montego Bay. This is above average between the months with the most and least rain. Rainfall drops as low as one to two inches in March and April. It peaks at seven inches in October.

It rains on average 10 days during the month. This is somewhat higher than the midpoint between the best and worst months. They are five days in March and 13 days in October.

Kingston Weather in June

Weather in June for Kingston is hotter but somewhat better with rainfall.

Average daytime temperatures are 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius. Nighttime temperatures average 76 Fahrenheit or 24 Celsius.

Like Montego Bay, these temperatures are near the high point between the highs and lows of the year. Temperatures in Kingston typically are several degrees warmer than Montego Bay.

Rainfall is usually lower in Kingston than Montego Bay. For June, the average rainfall is less than three inches. That compares to less than one inch from January through March and a high point of seven inches in June. It rains on average seven days compared to 10 in Montego Bay.
