Amber Cove weather in September historically has some of the best weather in the Caribbean.

Amber Cove, a privately owned cruise port, is near Puerto Plata on the northern coast of Dominican Republic.

The port is unusual because it normally doesn’t have the same high rainfall that many other Caribbean destinations usually experience in September. Their high rainfall is the result of the annual Caribbean hurricane season, which hits especially hard during the month.

Amber Cove Temperatures in September

While Amber Cove has some of the lowest rain in the Caribbean, it also has some of the hottest temperatures during September. The average high temperature in Amber Cove in September is 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius, according to the Dominican Republic Office of National Meteorology. The average nighttime temperature is 70 Fahrenheit or 21 Celsius.

Daytime temperatures reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 Celsius in June and continue through October.

Water temperatures will usually stay warm to balmy, especially in the afternoons.

By comparison, daytime temperatures average in the low to mid 80s Fahrenheit during the winter.

September is the fourth month of the Amber Cove dry season that goes from June through October every year.

The average rainfall in September is less than three inches, according to the National Office of Meteorology.

Amber Cove’s September rainfall is among the lowest in the Caribbean despite the fact that September is the most active month of the Caribbean hurricane season. The season runs from June 1 through Nov. 30; September is the worst month historically for tropical storms and hurricanes.

But Amber Cove has its own rainy season that is different from the rest of the Caribbean. It averages from four to 10 inches of rain per month from October through May.

It rains on average about eight days during September, again among the lowest in the Caribbean.

Amber Cove weather in September offers some of the lowest risk of rain in the Caribbean. The odds of good weather are higher than normal.
