February weather for the Amber Cove cruise port reaches the coolest point of the year with an average high temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

February also is part of the dry season and one of the three months of the year with only two inches of rain.

Amber Cove on the northern coast of Dominican Republic near Punta Cana is a private cruise port built and owned by Carnival Cruise Lines. Besides the main Carnival brand, others that visit the port including Cunard, P&O, AIDA, Azura, Costa and Holland America.

It is usually a port of call on six-night eastern Caribbean cruises that include San Juan and Grand Turk. It also is a common port of shorter cruises that also visit only Grand Turk.

Amber Cove Temperatures

Daytime temperatures are warm and nighttime temperatures are somewhat cool in February.

An average high temperature of just under 82 degrees Fahrenheit or about 27 Celsius is warm enough for land activities,  according to weather statistics from Dominican Republic’s National Office of Meteorology.

The average nighttime temperature of 71 Fahrenheit or 22 Celsius is cool enough to make swimming in the ocean a bit chilly in the morning. Visitors can hope Carnival heats the large pool and waterslide facility.

Caribbean vacation planners who like swimming in the ocean will find later months are better for a visit to Amber Cove.

Still, 82 Fahrenheit is not far off the average for Amber Cove, which is not known for hot weather any time of the year. Average high temperatures eventually climb to the mid to upper 80s Fahrenheit during the summer.

Amber Cove Rainfall

February in Amber Cove is part of a dry season that goes from December through April.

Average rainfall drops from about three inches in December to two inches from January through April.

Historically, it rains only seven days in February. So it’s a good month to visit Amber Cove for a low risk of rain and moderate temperatures.

By comparison, rainfall jumps to five inches in May, eases off in June and keeps climbing again from July until the high point of six inches in October.
