People who go on Caribbean cruises will find that onboard experiences are just as important as the islands they visit.

Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas has several features they may capture their attention.

The ship, built in 1998, has new restaurants, refurbished staterooms, an outdoor movie screen and a climbing wall for fitness enthusiasts.

The new restaurants include a family-style Italian trattoria, the complimentary Park Café, Izumi Asian Cuisine, the intimate Chef’s Table, and a signature steakhouse.

Vision of the Seas fitness center offers a variety of classes including yoga, aerobics and kickboxing. The ship has two pools, six whirlpools and an upper level jogging track.

Staterooms

Staterooms are available on 11 decks for up to 2,515 guests. They are divided into four categories and multiple subcategories depending on price, size and location:

Interior. The Standard Interior Stateroom has 132 square feet of space with two twin beds and a private bath. The Large Interior Stateroom has 142 square feet with two twin beds, a private bath and a vanity area.

The Superior Interior Stateroom has 164 square feet with two twin beds that convert into a king-sized bed along with a private bath and vanity area. An accessible superior statement has the same features plus 174 square feet.

Ocean View. The Large Ocean View has 151 square feet with two twin beds that convert to a king, a sitting area with sofa, vanity area and private bathroom.

The Family Stateroom can accommodate up to six people. It has 233 square feet, two twin beds that convert to a king, bunk beds in separate area, bathroom, and separate sitting area with sofa bed.

The larger Family Stateroom can handle up to six guests. It has 470 square feet including one bedroom with lower twin beds, one bathroom with shower, living area with double sofa bed and lower two twin beds that convert to a king.

The Preferred Ocean View Stateroom emphasizes the view more than the space. It has 193 square feet with two twin beds that convert to Royal King, sitting area with sofa, vanity area and a bathroom. Oversized window provides extended view.

Balcony. The Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony has 195 square feet of living space and 41 square feet of balcony. The room has two twin beds that convert to a king, a sitting area with sofa bed, and a bathroom. An accessible version also is available.

Suites. Most suites come with a balcony. The Junior Suite with Balcony has 243 square feet of living space and 66 square feet of balcony. It has a pair of twin beds that convert to a king, a bathroom with bathtub and a sitting area with sofa bed.

The Grand Suite with Balcony has 353 square feet of living space and 110 square feet of balcony. It has two twin beds that convert to a king, sitting area with sofa bed and bathroom with bathtub.

The Royal Family Suite offers 463 square feet of living space and a 55-square-foot balcony. Living accommodations include two twin beds that convert to a king, two bathrooms (one with shower, one with bathtub) and a living area with double sofa bed and Pullman bed.

The Owner’s Suite has living space totaling 515 square feet, a balcony with 116 square feet, a queen-size bed, private bathroom with bathtub, and a separate living area with queen-size sofa bed.

The spacious Royal Suite is available for anyone with a royal budget. It has 1,176 square feet of living space and a balcony with 138 square feet. It also has a separate bedroom with king-size bed, whirlpool bathtub, and a living room providing a queen-size sofa bed and baby grand piano.
