Antigua weather in July averages three inches of rain and high temperatures of 87 degrees Fahrenheit or about 31 Celsius.

The moderate rain and warm but not too hot temperatures in offer one of the better weather patterns for any island in the Caribbean during July.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorology Service track annual weather patterns over decades to come up with the average rainfall, temperatures and number of days with rain.

The actual totals may vary from one year to the next, but averages offer a chance to predict the odds of good or bad weather and pick the right months for a vacation.

July Rainfall

Although Antigua averages a little more than three inches of rain in July, it’s not the best month of the year for rain.

The island has a dry season that goes from January through April with average rainfall of less than three inches a month. February and March have the lowest amounts of the year with less than two inches apiece.

Those two months also average only eight days of rain per month compared to 11 in July.

But July rainfall is better than the four inches in August and more than five in September through November during the peak months of the Caribbean hurricane season. They are the worst months to visit Antigua.

July Temperatures

July is one of the three hottest months of the year along with August and September. Vacationers who like hot beaches and warm ocean water may prefer visiting this month to take advantage of the temperatures in addition to the lower risk of rain.

The average low temperature in July, which takes place mainly at night, is about 78 Fahrenheit or 26 Celsius. Even the lower night temperatures don’t go low enough to make the ocean waters too cool for swimming in the morning.

The same can’t be said for earlier months in Antigua. The average highs hover in the low 80s Fahrenheit and 20 lows Celsius during the winter. Their nighttime temperatures may make the ocean chilly for swimming in the mornings.
