Anguilla weather in November is all about rain. The island usually gets a lot of it during the month.

This small and tranquil island—almost a stone’s throw from St. Maarten—is a favorite among visitors who like quiet Caribbean destinations.

Most visitors fly into St. Maarten and ferry across the water to Anguilla. Others, like myself, visit St. Maarten for a hotel vacation and take a day trip there for excursions or exploring. Still others arrive at St. Maarten on a cruise and take an excursion boat to Anguilla, often for its great snorkeling.

Either way, it’s one of the better islands to visit because of its beautiful and often empty white sand beaches.

Rainfall in November

The Anguilla hurricane season has much in common with the Caribbean hurricane season except for one fact. Many Caribbean islands have the heaviest rain of the year in September and October. Anguilla has the most rain of the year in November.

Total rainfall for Anguilla and the nearby St. Maarten—which is only seven miles away—averages six inches historically during the month, according to the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten.

By comparison, it rains only two inches in February, March and June. The dry season goes from January through July with an average of two to three inches a month except for a brief spike in May.

Temperatures in November

Rainfall is the bad news for Anguilla. Temperatures are part of the good news.

The average daytime temperature in Anguilla during November is 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 Celsius. The average nighttime temperature is 77 Fahrenheit or 25 Celsius.

Water temperatures hover between the daytime highs and nighttime lows. So they should feel comfortable during most of the day, especially in the afternoons.

These temperatures are only three degrees Fahrenheit cooler than the high point of the year during the summer when the average high is 89 Fahrenheit.

Unfortunately, warm temperatures may not tempt visitors to go to Anguilla because November has the highest risk of rain for the entire year.
