Anguilla Weather in March

Anguilla in March has some of the best weather of the year thanks to warm temperatures and a low risk of rain.

This small island barely seven miles off the coast of St. Maarten receives few cruise ships. But cruise visitors to St. Maarten often go to Anguilla on shore excursions for its remote snorkeling spots and beautiful white sand beaches.

That's why we went there during one of our St. Maarten visits. Temperatures were comfortable and skies were clear all week long. The snorkeling and beaches were nearly perfect.

March Rainfall

Anguilla's annual dry season reaches the driest point in February and March with an average rainfall of less than two inches a month, according to the Meteorological Service of Netherland Antilles and Aruba.

The two inches of rain in March is much better than the rainy season. The average rainfall reaches a high point of six inches in October.

The dry season goes from January through July except for a brief spike in rain during a typical month of May.

March Temperatures

The average high temperature in March is a comfortable 85 degrees Fahrenheit or about 29 Celsius, the meteorological service says. The average low temperature is 74 Fahrenheit or 23 Celsius.

Seawater temperatures are usually about midway between those daytime highs and nighttime lows.

Water temperatures are usually comfortable enough for swimming. But as someone who has traveled the Caribbean multiple times during the early spring, I can say comfortable water is not guaranteed.

Other factors include trade winds and cooler northern currents. So anyone who wants to visit Anguilla for its white sand beaches should plan on swimming in the afternoons more than the mornings.

Anguilla weather in March is nearly ideal especially for people who travel during a spring break from school. April and June are slightly better options because of warmer temperatures and only a little more risk of rain.
