Count on St. Lucia weather in October to be just about as wet as anyplace else in the Caribbean.
October is the second worst month of the year after September for high amounts of rain throughout the region thanks to the annual Caribbean hurricane season.
St. Lucia is not spared. In fact, rain historically is slightly higher in October than September, which is unlike many other destinations that get hit the other way around.
If there is any consolation, the total rainfall isn’t as bad as many other popular tourism locations.
October Rainfall
Total rainfall has averaged five inches during the month over the course of 32 years, according to statistics from St. Lucia Meteorological Services.
That total is not nearly as bad as the eight to 10 inches often reached in places such as Cancun, Cozumel and Dominica.
But it is quite a bit worse than the best months to visit St. Lucia—February through April, when rainfall averages a little more than one inch a month.
Another fact to consider when planning a vacation to St. Lucia or any other Caribbean island is the average number of days each month that see rain. The higher the average, the higher the risk of bad weather.
St. Lucia has an average of 20 to 21 days of rain every month from July through November, which clearly marks the rainy season for the island.
Even though the island has less total rain than many destinations, it ranks at the top for the total number of rain days.

One of the best reasons to go is lower prices for hotels and resorts as a result of low demand. It’s a good time to go for budget-conscious travelers.
Another reason is that shrewd and experienced travelers will take a last-minute trip if the seven-day weather forecast shows a period of good weather.
In those cases, visitors will likely find warm weather because the average high temperature in St. Lucia during October is 87 degrees Fahrenheit or nearly 31 Celsius. The average low is 77 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 Celsius, which occurs mainly at night.

Should Anyone Go in October?
October is the worst month to visit St. Lucia because of the high risk of rainfall, especially for anyone who plans a vacation well in advance.
On the other hand, October may be a great month to go for budget and last-minute travelers because of the possibility of low prices and a rare break in the forecast.
